Clynfyw Community Benefit Society

About us: Clynfyw Community Benefit Society Limited (Clynfyw CBS) established in 2021, is led by local people and aims to secure and safeguard the future of Clynfyw Farm and ensure it continues to act as a community hub, developing and supporting local resilience, and is owned in perpetuity by the local community.

Following discussions with the previous owners, a Share offer was issued to finance the purchase of four cottages, buildings (including offices, toilets, kitchen, canteen, studio, craft room, shop, and empty rooms for potential renovation), and a thirteen acre field. The share offer didn’t do as well as we hoped, so we also applied and were successful in securing grants from the Welsh and UK Governments.

The cottages currently have 8 (out of a possible 10) tenants with supported living; the other buildings will continue to be leased to Clynfyw Care Farm from Monday to Friday, 9-4; and the field is currently being leased to a local, organic farmer.

Find out more about Clynfyw Care Farm in this Video (which predates our share offer).

Clynfyw CBS intends to retain the current tenancies and ensure that the properties stay in community ownership and are available for vulnerable people in perpetuity.
